Cádiz is a wonderful example of an Andalusian town, with several plazas showing important monuments or simply creating an open, relaxed and inviting area to sit down and enjoy the architecture and the surroundings. The city is divided into the old and the new part of the city, whereas the old part feels like travelling back in time, with a very charming atmosphere. The city is basically surrounded by the sea, with the port on the one side and stunning beaches with perfect conditions for swimming or surfing on the other. Huge walls which are part of the old fortification protect the city and are an exciting area to explore. A visit in the castle is also possible and in order to get the whole picture of this beautiful city a visit to the Torre Tavira, the biggest watch tower, is highly recommendable.
